RIB Diving Spaces Hi, I have my own rib and try and get to the coast at least once every two months, if weather is good. There is usualy one or two spaces available. If you are interested please get in touch. PAUL SLATER - paul@slat01.fsnet.co.uk
Dartmouth 3rd - 5th July 2009 This event has been posted on facebook for those in the Derby Divers group Description:
There are only 10 spaces available on this trip. We will be diving a mixture of wrecks and reefs around Start Point. These will include the newholm and the maine. The maine is probably the best dive on the south coast. Depths and dive sites will be picked to reflect the skill set of those divers attending. I expect excellent visibility. You can expect to see a range of marine life from Dolphins through to seals, fish and lobsters. The cost of the trip including accomodation on the Friday and Saturday night in a twin room in a bungalow will be £156. Alternatively if you prefer to make your own arrangements for accomodation you can just book a space on the boat for £96. The accomodation that we will be staying at can be viewed at this address :- http://www.leonardscoveholidays.co.uk/clifftop-bayview-bungalows/ Transport can also be arranged by minibus from the Derby area. The cost of the fuel for this transport will be split equally between all those using the minibus. It is estimated that the cost will be roughly £35 per person based on previous experience. This includes collection and drop off from home address. I will be taking the big bus on this trip. As always I am taking a deposit which is fully refundable if the event is called of due to poor weather. Please can you pay the deposit of £50 to 'Go Dive' in Derby as soon as possible and give me a call to confirm you wish to reserve a place. Alternatively contact me directly and I can offer other options. Please be aware that until such time as I have spoken to you and received a deposit, your place is not confirmed. Cheers Contact:
Please note .... All divers are expected to be competent to deploy a delayed surface marker buoy at the end of their dive. If you feel you are not able to do this please get in touch and I will arrange for you to be placed with a more senior diver or alternative offer remedial training. All divers will need sufficient gas to complete 2 dives on the first day. Refills of Nitrox and air are available on the Saturday night and the skipper will charge for these separately.
Description
St Kilda is an archipelago consisting of four main islands, Hirta, Dùn, Soay and Boreray and a number of sea stacs notably Levenish, Stac Lee and Stac an Armin. The islands and stacs shown on the picture were once the rim of a volcano which first erupted 50 to 60 million years ago. They lie in the Atlantic Ocean around 35 nm from North Uist in the Outer Hebrides and around 100 nm west from the mainland of the Scotland. Its now deserted apart from a military listening post and a vast array of wildlife. On the way we will be stopping off at some of the best dive sites on the west coast of Scotland. The visibility on St. Kilda is similar to the visibility you will get in the Carribbean. We will be diving from the livaboard 'Kylebhan'. You will receive a bed, 3 good meals a day and support from a great team of divers. You will dive at least twice each day. The cost for this trip is just £70 per person per day (£490 total). This includes all air, food, and of course transport to and from St. Kilda from OBAN in Scotland. THIS TRIP IS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED OR INEXPERIENCED. PERFECT BUOYANCY AND NERVES OF STEEL ARE A MUST. A PROVEN DIVING PEDEGREE AND THE ABILITY TO LEAD AND BE LEAD ARE REQUIRED. IT WILL BE AN ADVENTURE LIKE NO OTHER. THE PEOPLE YOU MEET ON THIS EXPEDITION WILL BECOME LIFE LONG FRIENDS ! If you have not dived with me before I will need confirmation from your instructor or local diving officer that you are ready and capable to take on an expedition of this magnitude. Alternatively if you feel you are ready but have no current instructor please contact me and I will join you for a shake down dive. Alternatively if you are not an experienced diver you are welcome to come along and see the range of whales and see birds which can only be seen in the north atlantic at this time of year. As usual I will be taking a deposit to confirm places. The deposit for this trip will be £200 which needs to be paid as soon as possible to secure your place. Deposits can be sent directly to me or alternatively pop your deposit into 'go dive' in Derby. The balance must be paid at least 10 days before departure. This trip will be advertised internationally so please be aware it will fill very quickly. Any questions give me a call. Steve

All accomodation on board, food and air is included in the price. Travel up on the Friday evening with accomodation on board whilst moored up in Oban. On the Sunday night we will return to Tobermory and stay the night moored up there. On the Monday morning we will leave Tobermory and travel back to Oban diving the wrecks of the Rondo and the SS Breda on the way home. Depths will range from 9 metres to around 50. The average wreck depth in the sound tends to be around 30 metres. The cost for this trip will be £225. This includes transport, accomodation on board. All air fills and good quality food for the weekend. If you are a rebreather diver, and wish to attend I will be taking a 'J' of O2. This can be used to fill your bottles at cost.
