If you are planning a trip and want to publicise it here please send an email containing "tripsboard" in the subject line to godivetrips@tiscali.co.uk .  If possible include the dates, location, cost, type of diving planned and most importantly how people can contact you.  The board is open to anyone to submit trip details, but the teamgodive tripmaster will publish the trip details here after checking, and has the final say on which trips are included. Details will normally be published within 24 hours of receipt  but may take longer at any time.

Dartmouth  3rd - 5th July 2009
This event has been posted on facebook for those in the Derby Divers group

Description:
We will be diving from Tony Hoile's boat 'Falcon' out of Dartmouth. This boat is regualarly featured on the BBC television programme 'Coast'. Tony is renowned for his indepth knowledge of wildlife and dive sites around the Dartmouth area.

There are only 10 spaces available on this trip.

We will be diving a mixture of wrecks and reefs around Start Point. These will include the newholm and the maine. The maine is probably the best dive on the south coast.

Depths and dive sites will be picked to reflect the skill set of those divers attending. I expect excellent visibility.

You can expect to see a range of marine life from Dolphins through to seals, fish and lobsters.

The cost of the trip including accomodation on the Friday and Saturday night in a twin room in a bungalow will be £156. Alternatively if you prefer to make your own arrangements for accomodation you can just book a space on the boat for £96. The accomodation that we will be staying at can be viewed at this address :-

http://www.leonardscoveholidays.co.uk/clifftop-bayview-bungalows/

Transport can also be arranged by minibus from the Derby area. The cost of the fuel for this transport will be split equally between all those using the minibus. It is estimated that the cost will be roughly £35 per person based on previous experience. This includes collection and drop off from home address. I will be taking the big bus on this trip.

As always I am taking a deposit which is fully refundable if the event is called of due to poor weather. Please can you pay the deposit of £50 to 'Go Dive' in Derby as soon as possible and give me a call to confirm you wish to reserve a place. Alternatively contact me directly and I can offer other options. Please be aware that until such time as I have spoken to you and received a deposit, your place is not confirmed.

Cheers

Please note .... All divers are expected to be competent to deploy a delayed surface marker buoy at the end of their dive. If you feel you are not able to do this please get in touch and I will arrange for you to be placed with a more senior diver or alternative offer remedial training.

All divers will need sufficient gas to complete 2 dives on the first day. Refills of Nitrox and air are available on the Saturday night and the skipper will charge for these separately.

Description
We will be travelling out to the islands of St. Kilda.

St Kilda is an archipelago consisting of four main islands, Hirta, Dùn, Soay and Boreray and a number of sea stacs notably Levenish, Stac Lee and Stac an Armin. The islands and stacs shown on the picture were once the rim of a volcano which first erupted 50 to 60 million years ago.

They lie in the Atlantic Ocean around 35 nm from North Uist in the Outer Hebrides and around 100 nm west from the mainland of the Scotland.

Its now deserted apart from a military listening post and a vast array of wildlife.

On the way we will be stopping off at some of the best dive sites on the west coast of Scotland.

The visibility on St. Kilda is similar to the visibility you will get in the Carribbean.

We will be diving from the livaboard 'Kylebhan'. You will receive a bed, 3 good meals a day and support from a great team of divers. You will dive at least twice each day.

The cost for this trip is just £70 per person per day (£490 total). This includes all air, food, and of course transport to and from St. Kilda from OBAN in Scotland.

THIS TRIP IS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED OR INEXPERIENCED. PERFECT BUOYANCY AND NERVES OF STEEL ARE A MUST. A PROVEN DIVING PEDEGREE AND THE ABILITY TO LEAD AND BE LEAD ARE REQUIRED.

IT WILL BE AN ADVENTURE LIKE NO OTHER. THE PEOPLE YOU MEET ON THIS EXPEDITION WILL BECOME LIFE LONG FRIENDS !

If you have not dived with me before I will need confirmation from your instructor or local diving officer that you are ready and capable to take on an expedition of this magnitude. Alternatively if you feel you are ready but have no current instructor please contact me and I will join you for a shake down dive.

Alternatively if you are not an experienced diver you are welcome to come along and see the range of whales and see birds which can only be seen in the north atlantic at this time of year.

As usual I will be taking a deposit to confirm places. The deposit for this trip will be £200 which needs to be paid as soon as possible to secure your place. Deposits can be sent directly to me or alternatively pop your deposit into 'go dive' in Derby. The balance must be paid at least 10 days before departure.

This trip will be advertised internationally so please be aware it will fill very quickly.

Any questions give me a call.

Description
Following the last 4 successfull trips to the sound of Mull, I am running another on the first weekend in August.

There are only 12 places available on this trip and I expect it to fill very quickly.

We will be staying aboard the Liveaboard 'KyleBhan'. All accomodation on board, food and air is included in the price.

Travel up on the Friday evening with accomodation on board whilst moored up in Oban. The plan is to dive 2 wrecks on the Saturday (Hispania / Thesis and Shuna), moor up in Tobermory overnight and then travel out to the island of Coll on the Sunday morning where we will dive two wrecks (to be decided dependent on weather). On the Sunday night we will return to Tobermory and stay the night moored up there. On the Monday morning we will leave Tobermory and travel back to Oban diving the wrecks of the Rondo and the SS Breda on the way home.

Depths will range from 9 metres to around 50. The average wreck depth in the sound tends to be around 30 metres.

The cost for this trip will be £225.

This includes transport, accomodation on board. All air fills and good quality food for the weekend.

If you are a rebreather diver, and wish to attend I will be taking a 'J' of O2. This can be used to fill your bottles at cost.

If you are interested send me an email and I will confirm details or give me a call.

SCAPA FLOW OCTOBER 1st - 10th 2009
Liveaboard to Scapa Flow £300 for the week.
This event has been posted on facebook for those in the Derby Divers group

Description

Scapa Flow is one of Britain's most historic stretches of water - located within the Orkney Islands, off the northeast coast of Scotland. It's sheltered waters have been used by ships since prehistory and it has played an important role in travel, trade and conflict throughout the centuries - especially during both World Wars.
During the first World War, the British Grand Fleet used Scapa Flow as a northern base. After a German U-Boat managed to enter the Flow early in the war, merchant ships were sent as blockships in strategic places and anti-submarine nets were put in place. From this base, vessels from the fleet made sweeps in search of the enemy.

(Shouldn't somebody also mention the scuttling of the interned German fleet ???? - ed.)

So if you are interested in seeing some WW1 wrecks this is THE place to go.

This 1 week onboard the "JEAN ELAINE" skippered by Andy Cuthbertson.

£300 for the week includes 12 dives, sleeping on board the "Jean Elaine" .

You can book a B&B if you don;t want to sleep on board.

Call Steve Bowers for more informantion about the ferry.

Have a chat with him about maybe sharing transportation too :o)

We are with 'Diverunner' again with Barry and his crew to sample the delights of the rarely visited reefs as well as the more well known ones.

Flights - East Mids

Return 16th Nov 23.00
Cost £652 inclusive of flights and transfers, all diving, air, wts, all food, soft drinks. Flight = £282.66 Diving = £369.34. Try and find a better deal.

Diverunner Info.
The boat has now the paper work which brings it up to EU standard. The CDWS and Egyptian Tourist Board inspect the safety regarding the boat and diving. Only a few boats based in Sharm have come up to EU standards as yet.
Full info on the boat with photos can be seen using the link web site to Diverunner. Cabins have 2 bunks with limited 'hanging' space - but who needs a suit or LBD for a diving hol. Food on board is excellent and lots of it. Plenty of deck space to sunbathe/ recover between dives!

Diving
6 full days - up to 4 dives per day, if you can last the pace!! The itinerary will be decided by the dive party with the help and advice of Barry ( who know's the places that other divers don't dive) But you can count on the reefs of Tiran, Thistlegorm, Dunraven and Ras Mohammed. No extra cost for the dives on the wrecks - unlike other diving companies. Divers who have been on Diverunner have always been impressed with quality of the dives and spectaculars like seeing Hammerheads or being surrounded for the whole dive by a family of dolphins live long in the memory. Not to be missed.
Another thing not to be missed is the quality of Barry's briefings - guaranteed not to have been experienced before!
The last night will be 'in harbour' but because the itinerary is flexible there is scope for another overnight stop in harbour rather than out at sea. Divers who want to have a look around the local hostelries will be able to do so. But this will depend on the whole group.

Booking
Any one wishing to come on this trip must first deposit on the flights - £130. To do this contact our travel agent Leslie Moitie on 0800 0431 382 or 07958 026 056. The quotes on the flight prices are current but may well increase so early payment is advisable.
Deposits of £50 on the diving will be collected after Easter.

Contact Keith Jones 07976849060 or Glynis Jones 07932191031 for any more details.
